La Paz International Airport

Downtown / Hotel Araiza

Manuel Márquez de León Airport (LAP) is about 11 km from downtown La Paz, along the Transpeninsular Highway. There is no Uber service available for leaving La Paz airport.

Here are the three ways to get there:

1. CAR RENTAL

From $36 USD/day

Counters inside the terminal, open approx. 6:00 AM–12:00 AM. Companies on site: Avis, Budget, Alamo, National, Enterprise, Hertz, Thrifty, and Localiza. Ideal if you'll be getting around the city a lot.

*Tip: Book ahead — high season starts in November.

2. PRIVATE TAXI (EXCLUSIVE)

$24-36 USD per vehicle

Authorized taxi stand right outside the terminal, with a fixed rate by zone. The price depends on the destination: downtown/Malecón is on the lower end; areas like Marina Costa Baja cost more. Up to 4 passengers ride for the same price.

*Tip: Confirm the price at the taxi counter (inside the arrivals hall) before getting in; payment isn't made directly to the driver.

3. TAXI COLECTIVO

~$8–18 USD per person

One vehicle carries several passengers headed to different addresses; each person is dropped off right at their own destination (hotel, home). It's arranged at the same ground-transportation counter; the exact price is set by the dispatcher based on how far you're going.

*Tip: This is the most economical option if you're traveling alone or as a couple with light luggage. Ask for "el colectivo" when you arrive.

Los Cabos                La Paz

If your flight arrives at Los Cabos International Airport (SJD, San José del Cabo), there's direct overland service to La Paz's bus terminal, right on the Malecón.

$28-45 USD

Eco Baja Tours. Travel directly from San José del Cabo Airport to La Paz. The journey takes around three hours.

Autobuses Águila. Connects Los Cabos with La Paz. Its direct airport–La Paz shuttle costs more, but if you depart from the downtown terminal in Cabo San Lucas or San José del Cabo, the ticket is cheaper — you'll just need a taxi or Uber from the airport to that terminal first (15–25 min).

DIRECT SJD AIRPORT SHUTTLE: $45 USD

FROM SAN JOSÉ DEL CABO (DOWNTOWN): $33 USD

FROM CABO SAN LUCAS: $28 USD
