Q. Can I submit more than one abstract?
A. Yes, you can submit more than one abstract. Each response on the Google form must correspond to a different abstract.
Q. Can I edit my abstract after submitting it?
A. Yes. You have until July 3rd to edit it.
Q. Can I apply for a travel award if I present a poster?
A. Only if your native language is Portuguese you can apply for a travel award by presenting a poster. All other applicants must give an oral presentation in English or Spanish to be eligible for the award.
Q. What do I need to apply for a travel award?
A. You must have previously registered your abstract and completed the travel award application form.
Q. Where can I apply for a travel award?
A. At the link https://forms.gle/bJGrEiKUk2sZxT6j7
Q. What is the deadline to submit my abstract if I want to apply for a travel award?
A. July 3rd is the deadline to submit your abstract if you want to apply for a travel award.
Q. Can I give an oral presentation in a language other than English or Spanish?
A. We are actively working to provide Portuguese interpretation for the conference, which would allow participants to give their talks in any of three languages: English, Spanish, and Portuguese. However, we are still working to secure funding to make Portuguese interpretation possible. We will provide updates on the availability of Portuguese interpretation here when we have more information. In the meantime, we recommend submitting an abstract for your preferred presentation mode (oral vs. poster). If there is any uncertainty, we suggest submitting for an oral presentation now, as it is easier to switch to a poster later if need be (rather than the other way around).
Q. If I am waiting to hear back about a travel award, do I need to pay the registration upfront in order to meet the early bird deadline?
A. Applicants for the Travel Award should receive news on their application before the early bird deadline, meaning that – if selected – the award can be applied to cover the registration fee (this is typically handled automatically, so no upfront payment would be needed). Â
Q. How much time do I have to give my oral presentation?
A. The scientific committee has not yet decided, but it is likely that it will be 12 minutes for the presentation and 3 minutes for questions.
Q. What dimensions should my poster have?
A. The size is standardized across all WHSG conferences: 91 x 122 cm (3’ x 4’). They can be displayed vertically or horizontally, depending on the available space, at the discretion of each speaker.
