The Western Hemisphere Shorebird Group (WHSG) hosts a biennial meeting that brings together researchers, conservation practitioners, and professionals working on shorebirds across the Americas. The meeting serves as a platform to present scientific research, share conservation initiatives, and coordinate efforts across regions.

The 11th WHSG Meeting will take place at the Universidad Autónoma de Baja California Sur (UABCS) in La Paz, Mexico, from November 9–13, 2026. The program will include plenary talks, symposia, workshops, and scientific sessions focused on advancing shorebird conservation in practice.

The meeting brings together students, early-career professionals, and experienced researchers, providing opportunities for collaboration, networking, and professional development. Presentations may be delivered in English or Spanish, fostering participation from across Latin America.
